Fine art wildlife photograph capturing a beautiful Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) perched atop a eucalyptus tree. It is nesting season and the tree is full of heron nests. The parents take turns setting on the eggs and feeding the young. This adult heron has just arrived and is taking a moment before settling in for nesting duty. There are 4 species of herons raising families together in this huge tree they mostly get along, with the exception of snowy egrets. Snowies constantly fight among themselves and pick fights with other heron species in the tree. This one is displaying a bit of attitude with its raised head feathers.
