This nature photograph was captured in the javelina's natural habitat along the riparian corridor of Sonoita Creek in southern Arizona near Patagonia. I was watching members of his herd feasting on watercress growing along the creek when I encountered this fine fellow along a riverine trail. I backed away and allowed him to join his mates.

I'm a native coastal Californian transplanted to the foothills of the Cascades. Being near the mountains has afforded me the opportunity to become attuned to seasonal rhythms and infuse that sense of time and place into my nature photography.
