Description
Huge and heavy upright slabs of split mica schist, wedged vertically to create a stone wall, glitter in shades of silver and gold beneath a pretty blue sky. Created as a boundary fence for the Point Arena Lighthouse, its design harkens to the ubiquitous split picket fences along the Mendocino coast, but it’s also reminiscent of lithic monuments bordering ancient henges in the British Isles.
This rock wall was constructed from 24 tons of material and it stretches 90 feet from the edge of the crumbling cliff above the Pacific Ocean.
