Description
Fine art wildlife photograph of Marbled Godwits (Limosa fedoa), Willets (Tringa semipalmata), and black-bellied plovers (Pluvialis squatarola) gathering along the shoreline of Bodega Bay in Sonoma County, California. Seagulls bob on the incoming tide as marbled godwits fly in to join the flock. These migratory shorebirds winter along coastal waters. When the tide is out, they use their long beaks to pull prey such as bristleworms, small bivalves and crabs from the mud flats ringing the harbor.
