Fine art photograph capturing detail of an ancient petroglyph panel executed in the distinctive Jornada Mogollon rock art style. The scene apparently depicts a man raising his staff to fight off an attacking mountain lion while an animal that looks like a large wolf has leapt up to sink its teeth in the old man’s back. There’s no way we will ever know the artist’s intent but the scene is compelling nevertheless, and darkly humorous.
