This prehistoric Fremont Culture petroglyph panel depicts 5 anthropomorphic figures carved and pecked into a heavily patinated rock face in a northern Utah canyon. The rock art panel is dominated by a large, iconic figure carrying what appears to be a shield in its right hand. The object held aloft in its left hand is thought by some to be a disembodied human head. The elements of this classic Fremont cultural style can be recognized in spectacular Pre-Columbian petroglyph and pictograph panels throughout most of Utah, as well as bordering areas of Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Arizona.
