The sun shines brightly on the water and the desert scrubland but dark clouds to the west hint of a recent rainstorm. The small farming community of Linwood nestled in this valley until the late 1950s when the federal government bought the town to create the dam on Henry's Fork of the Green River. Linwood residents had to choose to either move their homes or burn them down and now there is no trace of the historic town site.
