Description
Fine art photograph capturing a mound of broken soda pop bottles sparkling in the sun outside of the derelict Ismay Trading Post near Cortez in western Colorado.
The story goes that this mound of broken glass was called “Surveyor’s Hill” because in the old days, surveyors who worked in the area stopped by the trading post for a soda then tossed their empty bottles on the pile. These cultural artifacts will eventually be ground by the forces of wind and weather into colorful grains of sparkly sand.
