Description
Fine art photograph of an iconic, stylized bighorn sheep petroglyph on a heavily-patinated boulder at Three Rivers, New Mexico. This Jornada Mogollon Culture zoomorph, impaled by two spears, is decorated with pecked interior designs, including a small figure that resembles a horned head.
The Jornada Mogollon people developed their distinctive style of cultural expression between 900 and 1400 A.D. This site in the Tularosa Basin contains a concentration of over 21,000 amazing glyphs that stretch for miles across the desert!
